“Chissà a chi l’ha data per ottenere questo successo!” Questa è una frase che si sente spessissimo e in molti ambiti. Un’artista, una scrittrice, una cantante possono avere successo – così come i colleghi uomini – perché sono brave, perché sono belle, perché hanno carisma, perché assecondano i gusti del pubblico. Sono motivi che possiamo considerare più o meno validi, eppure ancora sentiamo in giro commenti profondamente sessisti e misogini come “chissà a chi l’ha data!”
C’è ancora molto da fare perché ci siano parità e rappresentazione nell’industria musicale. E anche il pubblico ha dei forti bias che andrebbero finalmente superati!

“I wonder who she slept with to achieve this success!” This is a very common comment in many areas. Female artists, writers, singers can be successful – like their male colleagues – for many reasons: they’re talented, they look beautiful, they’ve charisma, they give the audience what it wants. We can consider these reasons more or less valid, yet we still have to hear deeply sexist and misogynistic comments like “I wonder who she slept with!”
There’s still so much work to do in order to achieve equality and representation in the music industry. And the audience holds strong biases too, which should be finally overcome!
