Come persone bianche, abbiamo il dovere di essere attivamente antirazziste e di non pretendere che amic*, familiari e partner facciano il lavoro per noi. Spesso invece è proprio ciò che succede: questo comporta un’enorme fatica da parte delle persone Nere vicine a noi, che si ritrovano a doverci spiegare le cose, a tollerare la nostra indifferenza e magari anche sentirsi dire che sono esagerate. Che stanchezza!
As white people, we must be actively anti-racist and not expect our friends, family and partners to do the work for us. Yet this happens most of the time, placing an enormous burden on the Black people in our lives, who find themselves having to explain things to us, deal with our indifference and even put up with us telling them they’re overreacting. Exhausting!
